A mysterious time traveler—whose nature as human or AI remains unclear—returns from a prior episode where he alone uncovered a startling truth: the city of Pisa has set sail, traversing an abyss of time and space. Now, he is held captive in a peculiar, timeless realm—an environment both familiar and alien, where night seldom falls. Each day, he performs the same gestures, follows the same routines, as if trapped in a surreal loop. As the repetition deepens, he begins to sense the uncanny presence of alternate versions of himself, hinting at fractured timelines or multiple realities. Slowly, an awareness grows within him: he is ensnared in a temporal recursion, a loop with no clear beginning or end. The film is a meditation shaped by speculative physics—exploring time loops, mirror universes, and the idea that the most perceptive among us may glimpse, or even traverse, these hidden dimensions.

Director’s Statement

Unica Semper Avis is my production company (registration pending), it stands thanks to the people working in and around Studio Guerra and, by nature, it’s elastic enough to widen its perimeter to welcome more and sometimes less people according to the situation, to the project or the feeling. For the trilogy (Cenere, Argine, Charlot 1) I have been fortunate to work with my friends, starting with Nobile in Milan, an amazing musician and great sound designer, then with the Pisan crew with whom we’ve organized a few exhibitions and concerts which lead them to make a collective called Fando. Making movies for me is about working and discovering things with the people I like, love or that are simply crossing my path at the time and that have something interesting to offer. Perhaps I am not a ‘director’ in the strict sense: I consider the camera, video, and sound as tools with which to experiment, in the same way that I explore other means of expression. The work stems from my obsessions and the themes that accompany me, and I let the medium find its own way with me. There are statements, of course, but above all there is the mark of a process: chaotic and somehow magical discoveries and revelations. For me, making films is an exercise in refining one’s awareness and understanding of the world.
